Thanksgiving Dinner…

It’s a fine art knowing exactly when the
Thanksgiving Turkey is ready to eat….
… this year, it was a breeze… We waited until our little “notifier disk” buzzed at us to let us know our table was ready at “Fatz” Thanksgiving Dinner...

Attack of the leaves…

Attack of the leaves...
Jan spent a good bit of time this afternoon trying to blow the leaves into the woods, while I was mowing the bank in the backyard. It’s incomprehensible the number of leaves we have to deal with each year.

Funny where the snow falls…

Funny where the snow falls...
It’s funny how the whole time I was in Nebraska I was afraid I would get stuck in a snow storm. Ironically I didn’t run into snow until I was almost home. Thankfully it didn’t stick to the roads…. I’m home now- and it feels good!

Almost Home…

Well- I’m almost home- I drove 755 miles today (only 320 miles to go) and I am now just east of Nashville, TN. It feels good! I’m glad I changed my plans- this morning as I was leaving Omaha, I called Jan and she told me her cousin passed away last night, she was such a sweet lady. Her funeral is Saturday. I’m glad I will be there with Jan…

Omaha, NE...
I went for a drive through Omaha today. In the past I’ve spent a lot of time in Omaha, but never really explored. And to be honest I didn’t explore a lot today- I was basically trying to kill about 30 minutes- but I did find a “stop” sign that I could completely agree with!Originally I was gonna spend another 9 days here in Nebraska, But, I’ve decided it’s time to go home. I got to see my family- and that was the important part. Tomorrow I’m heading back home to South Carolina, and will get to spend Thanksgiving with Jan!

A Bit of History…

North Platte…

Well, I’m back in my hometown of North Platte, NE. Can’t say that it’s terribly exciting to be back- good to see old friends- but thats about it. Tomorrow I head to Omaha to celebrate my grandma’s 94th birthday. I’m really looking forward to seeing her and my Aunt Barb.
